Group Sessions
Group Sessions
Why Choose Group Therapy?
Group sessions provide a natural setting for children to practise and generalise skills such as:
- Turn-taking and active listening
- Initiating and maintaining conversations
- Understanding and using nonverbal communication
- Problem-solving and flexible thinking
- Sharing, cooperation, and teamwork
- Building friendships and self-confidence
Therapist-led group activities mirror real-world communication scenarios, helping children learn how to connect with others in meaningful ways.
Who Are Group Sessions For?
Group sessions may benefit children with:
- Social communication difficulties
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- ADHD or attention challenges
- Language delay or disorder
- Anxiety in social settings
- Difficulty with play or peer interaction
We carefully match children by age, goals, and communication level to create a positive and productive group dynamic.
What Do Sessions Look Like?
Each session includes:
- Structured activities to target specific goals
- Play-based learning that encourages natural communication
- Visual supports and scaffolding for success
- Group discussion, role play, games, and social problem-solving
- Parent feedback to support carryover at home or school
Sessions are run by a qualified speech pathologist and may also include co-facilitation with other professionals (e.g., OTs or educators).
NDIS and Private Clients Welcome
Group sessions can be funded through NDIS (self- and plan-managed) or paid privately. Sessions may run during school terms or holidays, depending on demand.
